| The Vista Fire Department is proud to announce that Firefighter/EMT Ashtin Rama is now qualified to drive Engine 142.
Firefighter/EMT Rama successfully completed the VFD’s Engine 142 Driver Training Program, which requires a minimum of 12 hours of driving time and eight hours of pump training.
As part of the program, he also demonstrated competency in a variety of apparatus operations, including drafting and water supply, operating multiple hose configurations, supplying master streams, identifying dry hydrants throughout the Vista Fire District, and drafting from a portable pond. The training also included proficiency with Engine 142’s extrication tools, building a crib box, and operating air bags.
With this milestone achieved, Firefighter/EMT Rama will now begin training to become qualified on Engine 141.
The VFD is always looking for more drivers—whether it's for our fire apparatus or our ambulances! Interested in joining? Learn more here: https://www.vistafd.org/content/become/ or apply online at https://www.vistafd.org/apply |
