| The Vista Fire Department is proud to congratulate Firefighter Cameron Downey on successfully completing his probationary period through the VFD Mentor Program!
Since joining the department, Firefighter Downey has achieved an important milestone by successfully completing Firefighter I, providing him with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to serve our community safely and effectively. Throughout his probationary period, Firefighter Downey has been an active participant in department training and emergency responses while being mentored by Assistant Chief Brian Porco.
The Vista Fire Department Mentor Program pairs new recruits with experienced members to guide them through their initial period of service. This program provides critical support as new members familiarize themselves with call response protocols, attend weekly Monday drills, and prepare for relevant coursework in their first year with the department.
