Sunday Training for 08/23/26
Vista Fire Department, August 24
This Sunday morning, the Vista Fire Department held a driver training session for members working toward becoming qualified to operate Engine 142.

Station Manager Carl Johnson Completes Ambulance Driver Training

The Vista Fire Department is proud to announce that Station Manager Carl Johnson is now qualified on our ambulances.
Station Manager Johnson successfully completed the ambulance driver training program, which included over 8 hours of behind-the-wheel driving and training on hospital operations. Station Manager Johnson will now continue to build his experience operating our EMS apparatus moving forward.

Lead Foreman Ryan Ruggiero Completes Engine 141 Driver Training
Vista Fire Department, August 19
The Vista Fire Department is proud to announce that Lead Foreman Ryan Ruggiero is now qualified to drive Engine 141.
Lead Foreman Ruggiero successfully completed the E-141 driver training program, which included hands-on experience operating the pump panel and logging over twelve hours of drive time. With this milestone achieved, he will now begin training to become qualified on Tanker 4.

This week’s Monday night drill was a “Fire and EMS Familiarization” drill for our members.
During this cross-training, our EMS personnel gained firsthand experience with the protective clothing, gear, and equipment used by firefighters, including turnout gear, helmets, gloves, and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
