Firefighter CPR, F.A.S.T & Mayday Operations Drill for 04/22/24

This week's Monday drill was "Firefighter CPR, F.A.S.T & Mayday Operations" for our members.
The "F.A.S.T. & Mayday Operations" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing how to perform a mayday, how to properly call a mayday on an emergency scene and then we tested our Firefighters by having them call a "mayday" in a practical scenario by using F.A.S.T. Sunday Training for 04/21/24

This Sunday morning we held a "Firefighter Skills Class" and Driver Training for our members who are becoming Apparatus Drivers on Engine 142 and the Ambulances for our weekly Sunday Training.

Hydrant Service and Assisting the Paramedic Drills for 04/15/24

This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Hydrant Service" drill for our Firefighters and an "Assisting the Paramedic" drill for our EMTs.
The "Hydrant Service" drill had our Vista Firefighters servicing the dry hydrants as a preventative maintenance measure for the Vista Fire District. Conducting a hydrant service regularly allows motor pump operators to get water faster than they would when a hydrant ... (Full Story & Photos)

Foreman Ryan Ruggiero completes Engine 142 training

The Vista Fire Department is proud to announce that Foreman Ryan Ruggiero is now qualified on Engine 142.
Foreman Ruggiero completed the E-142 driver training by learning how to operate E-142's pump panel and completing 8 hours or more of drive time behind the wheel. Foreman Ruggiero will now move onto learning how to drive Engine 143 going forward.
