This week’s Monday night drill focused on “Apparatus Cleaning” for our members.
The Vista Fire Department spent this past Monday evening preparing all apparatus for our Annual Inspection Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, May 30th. With the event approaching, each apparatus crew dedicated time to fine-tuning their rigs by cleaning interior compartments, waxing the exterior, and ensuring all equipment was operational and inspection-ready.
The Annual Inspection Dinner is a long-standing tradition within the fire service, where departments host dignitaries from New York State, Connecticut, Westchester County, neighboring fire departments, and local volunteer ambulance corps.
Throughout the year, each Vista Fire Department member is assigned to a specific apparatus, with crews working toward earning top inspection honors. The winning crew is determined based on the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of their apparatus on the day of inspection.
