The Vista Volunteer Fire Department proudly recognizes “National EMS Week” as we honor our dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians!

Established in 1974 by President Gerald Ford, National EMS Week celebrates the vital contributions of EMTs across the United States. This year’s theme, “We Care. For Everyone,” highlights the compassionate and inclusive care EMS providers deliver each and every day. You can learn more about EMS Week by visiting www.emsweek.org.

The Vista Fire Department first introduced EMS services in 1969 with the purchase of a Dodge van, which became our very first ambulance— Rescue 22. Today, our department responds to approximately 225–250 EMS calls annually, continuing a proud tradition of service and care in our community.
