This Sunday morning, we hosted a "Firefighter Skills Class" as part of our weekly Sunday Training.
The "Firefighter Skills Class" focused on mastering the proper techniques for donning and doffing firefighting gear, while also practicing "2-minute drills." During these drills, firefighters must fully suit up, including putting on the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), in under two minutes. This exercise is designed to build muscle memory, ensuring that firefighters can quickly and efficiently gear up in an emergency. Not only does this training provide essential foundational skills for those enrolled in the Firefighter I program, but it also helps those who have completed Firefighter I maintain and enhance their expertise.
