This week's Monday Night Drill was "Hoseline Advancement & Rehab Operations" for our members.

The "Hoseline Advancement & Rehab Operations" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing how to stretch an 1-3/4" hoseline off of Engine 141 while conducting several different scenarios. As Vista Fire Department personnel practiced stretching the hoselines, our motor pump operators reviewed how they would supply the fire attack teams with water if they were operating the Engine 141 pump panel. Our Firefighters are now better prepared to properly respond to fire related incidents following the conclusion of this Monday's drill.

While our Firefighters were participating in several different hoseline stretch scenarios, our Vista EMS personnel practiced "Rehab Operations" which was designed to ensure Firefighters' physical and/or mental well-being during an emergency scene. Due to the dangers that come with Firefighting, rehab operations play a crucial role in making sure all of our emergency responders stay safe. The Vista Fire Department is fortunate enough to offer both Fire & EMS services which allows our members to train together in scenarios such as these.
