This Wednesday evening we held a "EMT Skills Class" for our EMS personnel.

This Wednesday's "EMT Skills Class" had our Vista EMS personnel focusing on legal definitions and medical & ethical considerations. Vista EMS personnel learned about "refusing medical attention" (RMA) criteria, "do not resuscitate" (DNR) orders, consent confidentiality, negligence, what is considered mandated reporting, how to handle a crime scene and medical identification devices during this EMT skills class session. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates who are planning to take a future EMT-Basic class succeed and for our EMTs who have completed EMT-Basic to become a cleared riding EMT in our Department.
