The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Foreman Ryan Ruggiero on completing the "Standpipe Operations" class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, New York.

Foreman Ruggiero completed the 3-hour course described as the following by New York State:

"This program will focus on Standpipe Operations and will cover the following topics: initial size up report, water supply to the FDC, alternate water supply operations, lobby control, elevator use during fires, stairwell types and designation for operations, review of types and classes of standpipe systems, review of various standpipe hose/nozzle combinations, stretching and advancing hose operations, alternate tactics for suppression and engine company emergencies for standpipe equipped building."
