This week's Monday drill was a "Large Area Search" drill for our members and personnel from the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps (LVAC).

The "Large Area Search" drill was conducted at the Leon Levy Preserve on Smith Ridge Road in South Salem, New York. Several Vista Fire Department and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps crews searched the area bordering Smith Ridge Road, Kitchawan Road and Rt. 35 while other crews were staged at the Leon Levy Preserve entrance.

It took crews roughly 10 minutes to locate the person, address the patient's medical needs, package them for extrication and remove them from the woods to a waiting ambulance. Practicing this type of training is instrumental for our members due to the amount of parks in the Vista Fire District such as the Leon Levy Preserve and Onatru Farm. We would also like to thank the members of the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps for joining us!
