On Wednesday, February 16th, Vista's EMT Candidates learned about medical terminology in the fourth of six classes in a series designed to prepare them for a New York State EMT Original class. Topics included a review of the most commonly used terms in EMS, determining the root, suffix, and prefix of terms to discern their meanings, appropriate and inappropriate use of acronyms and abbreviations when conversing and documenting as an EMT, use of lay terms, and finally body position, anatomical location, and direction.
The EMT Fundamentals course prepares our candidates to take an Emergency Medical Technician course.
