| This week's Monday Night Drill was "Beyond the Preconnect" for our Firefighters and an "EMS In-Service" drill for our EMTs.
The "Beyond the Preconnect" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing the extended stretch and how to operate the gated wye. Vista Firefighters reviewed how to stretch 200 feet of 1-3/4" hoseline with an additional 50 feet of 1-3/4" hoseline via the "apartment pack." Following the review of the 1-3/4" extended stretch, our Firefighters practiced stretching 400 feet of 2-1/2" hoseline with a gated wye.
The "EMS In-Service" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing the medications we carry on our Ambulances for various different types of responses led by our Medical Director, Dr. David Zuckerberg. This type of drill is part of the annual in-service training that our EMS personnel have to go through every year.
