| This Sunday morning we held a "MPO Class" for our members training to become Apparatus Drivers/MPO's and a "Firefighter Fundamentals Class" for our members who are preparing themselves to take Firefighter I this upcoming Winter/Spring.
During the MPO class, several of our members practiced pumping Engine 142 & Engine 143 as we continue to develop new Apparatus Drivers/MPO for our Emergency responding vehicles. The members reviewed how to properly pump and draft with Engine 142 while feeding Engine 143 during this week's MPO Class.
Led by Lead Foreman Phil Katz, this week's "Firefighter Fundamentals Class" reviewed how to properly use tools such as a chainsaw on the Fireground and how Firefighters are supposed to respond while riding in Engine 141, our lead Engine. This type of training is what will prepare our Firefighters for the New York State Firefighter I program several months from now.
