We at the Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Probationary Firefighter Ryan Ruggiero on completing the Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, New York!
"BEFO" is a 43-hour course that teaches Firefighters all the duties and techniques that need to be performed from an Exterior Firefighting role. Students learned how to properly place ladders on the fire ground, the importance of staging equipment during a structure fire and proper hose line techniques when battling a fire from the outside of a structure.
All training at the Vista Fire Department is free of cost and if you'd like to join our team click the "Become a Member" tab at VistaFD.org.
