This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Search and Rescue with Victim Removal" for our members.
The "Search & Rescue" drill had our Vista Firefighters performing search and rescue operations during a simulated structure fire. The firefighters conducted searches to locate a trapped patient inside the building. Once the patient was found, they worked together to safely remove the victim from the structure. This type of training is critical for our Firefighters, preparing them for the challenges they may face in real-life situations, especially when they need to navigate hazardous environments and complete complex tasks like searching for and rescuing victims.
In the victim removal phase, our Vista EMS personnel were ready to take over once the patient was brought out of the structure. Our EMTs are trained to quickly assess the condition of the victim, provide initial care, and prepare them for transport to the hospital if needed. This seamless transition between Firefighters and EMS ensures a coordinated response that improves patient outcomes in emergencies.
This drill is just one example of how our teams work together to provide the highest level of service to the community. We remain committed to continuing this type of training to ensure our members are ready for any situation they may encounter.
