This week’s Monday Night Drill focused on Bloodborne Pathogens training for our members.
Our Vista Fire Department personnel conducted the annual Bloodborne Pathogens drill, which covers essential training based on NFPA 1581 (Fire Department infection control program) and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 (occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens). These standards mandate that all first responders are trained to recognize and prevent the transmission of diseases or viruses from bloodborne pathogens during emergency incidents.
