This week's drill saw the Vista Firefighters service the dry hydrants in the Vista Fire District with winter (hopefully) slowing down. This process is preventative maintenance for the Vista Fire Department as it allows motor pump operator's (MPOs) to get water faster than they would when a hydrant may be obstructed with silt built up from the winter.
While the Vista Firefighters serviced and checked all the dry hydrants in the district, it also gave those training on the pump panel an opportunity to practice the skills they've learned the last couple of months.
