This Sunday morning we held a "Firefighter Skills Class Webinar" and an "EMT Skills Class Webinar" for our weekly Sunday Training. Both of these classes had our members logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues forward with holding online learning.

This Sunday's "Firefighter Skills Class Webinar" had our Firefighting personnel going over the strategy and tactics for first arriving units during a confirmed fire. Vista Firefighters reviewed what their responsibilities would be like during a confirmed fire and the various aspects of fire suppression operations during these types of emergencies. This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.

This Sunday's "EMT Skills Class Webinar" had our EMS personnel going over cardiac related emergencies. Vista EMTs reviewed the types of cardiac related medications, how to properly administer cardiac medications and the anatomy of the heart. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates who are planning to take a future EMT Basic class succeed and for our EMTs who have completed EMT Basic to keep up with their skills.
