The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Lieutenant Phil Katz and Firefighter/EMT Ryan Ruggiero on completing "Engine Company Operations" class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, New York.

Lieutenant Katz and Firefighter/EMT Ruggiero completed the 24-hour course described as the following by New York State:

"This is a course offered by NYSOFPC designed to build on Engine Company skills learned in Firefighter I. This course includes more detailed information on fire behavior, fire control, tactical positions and responsibilities, size-up, tactical considerations, standpipes, and loading and advancing hand-lines."
