This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Tanker Shuttle" for our Firefighters and a "Patient Assessment CME" for our EMTs.

The "Tanker shuttle" drill had out Vista Firefighters practicing water supply operations this past Monday night. A "tanker shuttle" is where Firefighters are forced to move water via tankers due to areas with no fire hydrants or good drafting resources. It is instrumental for Departments in our area to have an adequate water supply to insure a successful fireground operation. Being that the Vista Fire District is a "rural water supply" area, practicing this type of water supply operations is essential.

The "Patient Assessment CME" drill had our Vista EMS personnel visiting Pound Ridge VAC to continue their medical education. Vista EMS personnel reviewed the proper procedures of a patient assessment during a medical and trauma call scenario. Our Department appreciates the opportunity to train with neighboring agencies and as always, extend our thanks to Pound Ridge VAC for hosting this past Monday's CME lecture.
