This Sunday morning we held an "Introductory Bailout Training PowerPoint Presentation," a "Recertification Bailout Training Practical" and an "EMT Skills Class" for our weekly Sunday Training.

This Sunday's "Introductory Bailout Training PowerPoint Presentation" had our Firefighting personnel who recently became Interior Firefighters reviewing our bailout system. Vista Firefighters learned about the bailout system system by going over how to deploy the system, how to properly maintain it and what will be expected of them when they complete the practical portion in the near future. With the completion of this course, the Firefighters who attended this presentation will now participate in practical training where they will have to perform several bailouts.

This Sunday's "Recertification Bailout Training Practical" had our Firefighting personnel recertifying on our bailout system. Vista Firefighters conducted three "jumps" using different techniques and procedures on how to operate our bailout system. This training has now recertified our interior firefighters on the bailout system that the Vista Fire Department uses for the next year. We would like to thank the South Salem Fire Department for allowing us to use their bailout training prop and to South Salem Lieutenant Ed Zeller for helping us with any logistics at the South Salem Firehouse!

This Sunday's "EMT Skills Class" had our EMS personnel going over seizure assessments. Vista EMS personnel reviewed the signs & symptoms for patients dealing with a seizure and how to treat them while on the emergency scene. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates who are planning to take a future EMT Basic class succeed and for our EMTs who have completed EMT Basic to keep up with their skills.
