This week's Monday Night Drill was "V.E.I.S." for our members. The "V.E.I.S." drill had our Vista Fire Department personnel going over the Firefighting technique known as V.E.I.S. which is Vent, Enter, Isolate and Search. Vista Firefighters practiced venting a 2nd story window from a 28 foot ladder, followed by entering the room after it was vented, isolating the room to control the environment and then they conducted a rapid search to locate the patient. The V.E.I.S technique is a way for Firefighters to conduct a coordinated rescue in the event of an emergency.
