This Sunday morning we held a "Motor Pump Operators & Firefighter Skills Class," an "EMT Skills Class" and an "AHA CPR Class" for our weekly Sunday Training.

This Sunday's "Motor Pump Operators & Firefighter Skills Class" had our Firefighting personnel pumping Engine 141 while supplying 1-3/4" hose lines that were being used to practice hose line advancement operations. This type of training is what will help our prospective Apparatus drivers to become cleared drivers in our Department as well as Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class, and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.

This Sunday's "EMT Skills Class" had our EMS personnel reviewing how to write a pre-hospital care report (PCR) and how to conduct radio operations while enroute to the Hospital. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates who are planning to take a future EMT Basic class succeed and for our EMTs who have completed EMT Basic to keep up with their skills.

While the other classes were going on, the Vista Fire Department held an American Heart Association CPR class for several of our members. Our members take CPR on a yearly basis to properly serve the Vista Fire District #1 community.
