FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

On Wednesday, March 13th around 1625 hours, the Vista Fire Department along with resources from the South Salem Fire Department, were dispatched to the area of 250 Smith Ridge Road for a possible structure fire. While en route, Vista Engine 141 reported a column of smoke visible in the sky from the area of the call and requested the first alarm assignment.

Units brought in to this call included resources from the New Canaan (CT) Fire Department, Pound Ridge Fire Department, Ridgefield (CT) Fire Department, Goldens’ Bridge Fire Department, Bedford Hills Fire Department, Westchester EMS, Lewisboro VAC EMS, Ridgefield FD EMS, Pound Ridge VAC, Lewisboro Police Department and Westchester County Battalion Chief 13. We would like to thank all the mutual aid first responders for their help on Wednesday evening.

Once on location, the address for the structure fire was updated to 256 Smith Ridge Road as crews from Vista Engine 141 were met with a large volume of fire throughout the home. It was determined by Incident Command at that time that it would be an exterior fire attack. The Vista Fire Department remained on scene until shortly before 2200 hours on Wednesday evening.

One patient was taken to a nearby hospital via advanced life support (ALS) on the Vista Ambulance with two additional patients taken to nearby hospitals separately by Lewisboro VAC EMS and Ridgefield FD EMS.

The fire remains under investigation by Westchester County Cause & Origin and the New York State Police.
