Apparatus Review Drill for 10/22/18

This week's Monday drill was "Apparatus Review" training for our members.

The "Apparatus Review" drill had our members go through each piece of apparatus so they can get introduced/refreshed on all the equipment on Engine 141, Engine 142, Engine 143, Ambulance 84B1 and Ambulance 84B2. Knowing how each piece of equipment works and where it is located is very important for the members of the Vista Fire Department. By completing an "Apparatus review" drill, the members are now better equipped to be prepared on emergency scenes when operating any of the apparatus in our Department.

While the "Apparatus Review" drill was conducted at the Vista Firehouse, we sent Tanker 4 to participate in a Tanker Shuttle drill at the Pound Ridge Fire Department. A "tanker shuttle" is where Firefighters are forced to move water via tankers due to areas with no fire hydrants or good drafting resources. It is instrumental for Departments in our area to have an adequate water supply to insure a successful fireground operation. Being that the Vista Fire District is a "rural water supply" area, practicing this type of water supply operations is essential. We would like to thank the Pound Ridge Fire Department for hosting and inviting us to this training!
