We at the Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Chief Jeff Peck, Captain Debbie Ferman, Foreman Karen Lilly & Foreman Dan Castelhano on completing the "Leadership, Accountability, Culture, and Knowledge" Class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, New York!

Chief Peck, Captain Ferman, Foreman Lilly & Foreman Castelhano completed the 4 hour course described as the following by New York State:

“This program is designed to reach fire officers, training officers and chief officers and provide the opportunity to learn how Leadership, Accountability, Culture and Knowledge can guide them toward recognizing how they can improve both their own and/or organizational skill set for what each letter represents. (L.A.C.K)

It assumes the attendee has not yet embraced the Everyone Goes Home, Courage to Be Safe campaign. While improving Leadership skills, recognizing the importance of Accountability, the impact of Culture and the need for continuous Knowledge the presenter utilizes the opportunity to introduce the blueprint for the Courage to Be Safe 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives into the personal and organizational improvement action plan.”

All training is free of charge to the members of the Vista Fire Department and Volunteers are needed! Please visit VistaFD.org for more details on how you can join our team!
