This Sunday morning we held a "Firefighter Fundamentals Class," an "EMT Fundamentals Class" and Driver Training for our members who are becoming Apparatus Drivers on Engine 141, Engine 142 & Engine 143.

This week's "Firefighter Fundamentals Class" had our Firefighters reviewing reduced profile, how to perform a full SCBA escape, how to properly operate a ladder and the proper way to conduct horizontal ventilation. This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.

This week's "EMT Fundamentals Class" had our EMTs and EMT Candidates conducting an ambulance inventory review, how each piece of equipment is properly used and what the correct protocols are for specific EMS calls. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates planning on taking the EMT-Basic class soon and for our current EMTs to keep up with their skills.
