This Sunday morning we held a "Firefighter Fundamentals Class," an "EMT Fundamentals Class" and Driver Training for our members who are becoming Apparatus Drivers on Engine 143.

This week's "Firefighter Fundamentals Class" had our Firefighters reviewing ladder operations by covering tactics such as the beam raise, flat raise, roof ladder deployment and how to assist a conscious victim down a ladder during a fire. This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.

This week's "EMT Fundamentals Class" had our EMTs and EMT Candidates completing an Ambulance inventory by going over how all the tools & equipment are used on an emergency response. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates planning on taking the EMT-Basic class soon and for our current EMTs to keep up with their skills.
