This week's Monday Drill was an "MPO Operations" for our Firefighters and an "Obstetric Emergencies" drill for our EMTs.

During the "MPO Operations" drill, our Firefighters & Apparatus Drivers/MPOs practiced operating the Engine 143 pump panel by flowing water to an 1-3/4" hose line to simulate an initial fire attack and they also practiced switching to a positive water source from Tanker 4. This type of training helped our current Apparatus Drivers/MPOs practice pumping on Engine 143, while our prospective Apparatus Drivers/MPOs learned how to pump Engine 143.

During the "Obstetric Emergencies" drill, former Vista FD Firefighter/EMT (turned Medical Student) Duncan Grossman taught our EMTs & EMT Candidates how to handle a child birthing emergency call. They reviewed birthing issues, complications/procedures and how to deliver a baby during this past Monday's EMS drill. We would like to thank Duncan for making the time to come back and teach our EMS personnel last night!
