This Sunday morning we held a "Firefighter Fundamentals Class," an "EMT Fundamentals Class" and Driver Training for our members who are becoming Apparatus Drivers on Engine 143.

This week's "Firefighter Fundamentals Class" had our Firefighters reviewing ladder operations, roof operations, how to perform a horizontal vent and completing the "25-second drill." This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.

This week's "EMT Fundamentals Class" had our EMTs & EMT Candidates going over the ambulance inventory, how to use each piece of equipment in the ambulance and how to operate in the back of our ambulance during a CPR call. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates planning on taking the EMT-Basic class soon and for our current EMTs to keep up with their skills.
