| The Vista Fire Department concluded training for 2014 on Monday December 29th with the 4th & final Motor Pump Operator (MPO) class to help clear new Apparatus drivers/MPOs and to help other members attain hours operating the pump panel as they get closer to getting cleared on the specific apparatus they are training on. As part of the final class, Foreman Brian Porco & FF Joey Haberny led Firefighters in a "real-time" structure fire situation that would put multiple hoselines in service off of Engine 141 while being fed water from Engine 142 during drafting operations. Other Firefighters on hand spent their time stretching hoselines during a simulated structure fire. We would like to congratulate the 5 Drivers that were cleared during the recent 4-day Motor Pump Operator class: FF Jerry Miller (Engine 141 & Engine 142), FF Anthony Carelli (Engine 142), FF Martin Rojas (Engine 142), Foreman Kevin Piro (Rescue 13) and Mutual Responder Dave Jacobsen (Engine 141 & Engine 142). Many thanks go out to Ex-Chief Bill Dingee, Lt. Mike Peck, Foreman Brian Porco, FF Sean Kelly and FF Joey Haberny for their help with instructing the classes! |
