How long have you been a member for?

I have been a member since August 2013.

What made you join the Vista Volunteer Fire Department?

I've wanted to join since the mid 80's but family and work held me back. Now I have the time. I saw a Facebook post about joining, so I did.

What does serving the Vista Fire District community mean to you?

Service to the Vista Fire District is a privilege and I do my best to be worthy of our mission, to preserve lives and property.

What has been your greatest achievement with the Vista Volunteer Fire Department?

My greatest achievements have been to be promoted to Foreman of Vista's First Due Attack Engine 141, and to have become part of the Brotherhood of Firefighters.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining the Vista Volunteer Fire Department?

My message to prosective volunteers is, Join Vista and you'll be trained by a competent crew of brothers in an in-house program that is unparalleled in the area. You will have the opportunity to learn firefighting skills at Westchester County Fire Training Center or the Katonah satellite, from the best instructors in the business, all free of charge. Because we are a small department you can make a big difference in your community.
