This week's Monday Firefighting drill was led by Captain Mike Peck & Firefighter Sean Kelly as the Vista Firefighters practiced hoseline advancement and ladder operations. During the Firefighting drill we simulated a residential structure fire and had crews stretch a hoseline into a building while another crew practiced proper ladder placement in the event of an actual fire. Vista Firefighters stretched one 1-3/4" hoseline into the structure practicing advancement techniques that would force crews to carry the hoseline up to a 2nd floor of a residential structure. Practicing hoseline advancement and ladder operations is crucially important for our Firefighters as it is the fundamentals of Firefighting. All of our Firefighters are Volunteers and we are always looking for new members to join our team at the Vista Fire Department!
