| The Vista Fire Department proudly congratulates Firefighter/EMT Hanna Zhao on successfully completing the Truck Company Operations course, a comprehensive 24-hour training program focused on the skills, equipment, and responsibilities associated with ladder company operations. This course provides firefighters with instruction in the duties and responsibilities of a ladder company and the safe and effective use of specialized tools and equipment commonly utilized during fireground operations. Throughout the training, participants received instruction and hands-on experience in operating ground ladders, forcible entry, ventilation, search operations, building construction, and the proper operation and maintenance of specialized ladder company tools and equipment. Truck company operations play an important role on the fireground, with firefighters often responsible for gaining access to buildings, searching for occupants, providing ventilation, placing and operating ladders, and supporting other crews during fire suppression and rescue operations. By completing this training, Firefighter/EMT Zhao has strengthened her knowledge and practical skills in truck company operations, further expanding her capabilities as a firefighter and her preparedness to safely and effectively operate at structure fires and other emergency incidents. Congratulations to Hanna on her continued dedication to training, professional development, and excellence in the fire service. All training is provided free of charge to Vista Fire Department members, and we are always looking for new volunteers!
