| This week’s Monday night drills focused on “CPAP, SGA, and DuoNeb” refresher training for our EMS personnel and “Initial Fire Attack Operations” for our Firefighters. During the “CPAP, SGA, and DuoNeb” refresher, Vista EMS personnel reviewed important airway and respiratory care skills used during emergency medical responses. Members reviewed the use of CPAP for patients experiencing respiratory distress, SGA airway devices for airway management, and DuoNeb treatments for patients experiencing certain breathing-related emergencies. During the “Initial Fire Attack Operations” Fire drill, Vista Firefighters reviewed the critical first steps taken during a structure fire response. Members focused on initial size-up, hose line selection and deployment, water supply considerations, pump operations, communication, and coordinated fire attack procedures. The Vista Fire Department remains committed to ongoing training in both Fire and EMS operations so our members are prepared to respond professionally, safely, and effectively when our community needs us most.
