| This Sunday morning, the Vista Fire Department held a driver training session for members working toward qualification as apparatus drivers on Engine 142 and Utility 256. The Driver Training program is how Vista Fire Department personnel are trained and cleared to operate Fire and EMS apparatus. Members complete several hours of "drive time" behind the wheel of each vehicle before being approved as drivers. The training includes an equipment overview of all apparatus and instruction on operating the pump panel for the fire engines. The program begins with members learning to operate Utility 256, followed by the ambulances, Engine 142, Engine 141, and Tanker 4. We were also pleased to welcome Ronan and William, along with their families, to the firehouse for a special morning with our members. As the winners of the Country Children's Center Silent Auction, they were recognized as our honorary Junior Firefighters/EMTs for the day. They enjoyed breakfast with the crew before receiving a tour of the firehouse and all of our Fire and EMS apparatus, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the equipment, ask questions, and experience what it's is like to be part of the Vista Fire Department. We hope they had a memorable visit and thank the Country Children's Center for its continued support of our Department and the community.
