| This week’s Monday night drills focused on “Call Audit” for our EMS personnel and “Drafting Without a Dry Hydrant” for our Firefighters. During the "Call Audit" EMS drill, Vista EMS personnel reviewed previous EMS calls to evaluate documentation, patient care, response procedures, and overall operational performance. Call audits are an important part of EMS quality improvement, allowing providers to review real-life responses, identify areas of strength, and discuss opportunities to improve patient care moving forward. We would also like to thank our Medical Director, Dr. David Zuckerberg, for leading this valuable drill and sharing his expertise to help strengthen our providers' clinical knowledge and enhance the level of care we deliver to our community. During the “Drafting Without a Dry Hydrant” Fire drill, Vista Firefighters reviewed and practiced pump operations in areas where a pressurized hydrant system or dry hydrant may not be available. Members worked through the process of establishing a water supply from an alternate static water source, focusing on proper setup, pump operation, and maintaining a reliable water flow for fireground operations. The Vista Fire Department is proud to provide both Fire and EMS services to our community, and continued training helps ensure our members remain prepared to respond safely and effectively to a wide range of emergencies.
