On Saturday, May 30th, the Vista Fire Department hosted its 2026 Annual Inspection Dinner at the Vista Firehouse.

During the event, several members were recognized for their outstanding service and dedication:

-- Foreman Pietro Cipriano was honored as the 2025–2026 Firefighter of the Year

-- Lieutenant Dan Castelhano was named 2025–2026 EMT of the Year

-- Firefighter/EMT Ashtin Rama received the 2025–2026 Rookie of the Year award

-- Firefighter Steven Woodstead was recognized for an incredible 45 years of service

-- Firefighter Phil Wanderman was awarded the Vista Fire Department Medal of Valor

-- Engine 142 received the Best Fire Apparatus award

-- Ambulance 84B1 received the Best Ambulance award

The Annual Inspection Dinner is a special evening where the Vista Fire District #1 and Vista Fire Department come together to celebrate and thank our members for their unwavering commitment and service to the Vista community.
