The Vista Fire Department proudly congratulates Foreman Pietro Cipriano, Firefighter Philip Wanderman, and Foreman Daniel Hochman on successfully completing the Apparatus Operator – Emergency Vehicle Operations course, a comprehensive 21-hour training program.

This important course provides vehicle operators with a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and risks associated with operating emergency apparatus. Based on objectives from National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1002: Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, Chapter 2, the program is designed to enhance both knowledge and decision-making skills behind the wheel.

Throughout the training, participants explored the seriousness of emergency vehicle operations, including the potential for tragedy and financial loss if not conducted safely and professionally. The course emphasizes the legal and moral responsibilities that come with operating emergency vehicles, reinforcing the importance of accountability, situational awareness, and sound judgment during responses.

By completing this training, Foreman Cipriano, Firefighter Wanderman, and Foreman Hochman have taken an important step in ensuring the safety of our members and the community we serve.

Congratulations to all three members on their dedication to continued training, professionalism, and excellence in the fire service.

All training is provided free of charge to Vista Fire Department members, and we are always looking for new volunteers! If you’re interested in joining, call us at (914) 533-2727, email Info@VistaFD.org, visit https://www.vistafd.org/content/become/, or apply online at https://www.vistafd.org/apply
