Search & Rescue Drill for 6/29/15

By Vista Fire Department
June 30, 2015

This week's Monday Firefighting drill was led by Lt. Brian Porco as our Firefighters went over search & rescue operations once a hoseline was stretched into a simulated fire.

The Vista Firefighters operated in crews of three for each drill scenario by having two of our Firefighters suppress the fire while having one Firefighter search the simulated "fire room" for any potential victims. Once the "fire" was under control the "back up" Firefighter on the hoseline (positioned behind the Firefighter operating the nozzle) would help the Firefighter conducting search & rescue operations in either locating the victim and/or removing the victim from the building and to awaiting EMS crews.

If you're interested in joining our ALL Volunteer Fire & EMS Department, stop by any Monday night from 6:30pm - 9pm for more details on how you can be part of our team at the Vista FD!
