During the 2024 Vista Fire Department Annual Inspection Dinner, Ex-Chief Jim Hackett was honored for 45 years of service.

Ex-Chief Jim Hackett joined the Vista Fire Department back on December 8th, 1978 and has served as a Chief, Line Officer, Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician throughout his time with us. Even after 45 years of serving the Vista Volunteer Fire Department, Ex-Chief Hackett is still extremely active, consistently being one of our top responders each year. Ex-Chief Jim Hackett previously served the Vista Fire Department as its Chief for a 3 year term from 1991-1994 and currently serves as our Department Safety Officer. During his 45 years of service Ex-Chief Hackett was also recognized back in 1999-2000, and most recently this past year, as the Vista Fire Department "Firefighter of the Year" award recipient. When the Vista Firehouse was remodeled back in 2010, the Vista Fire District #1 Board of Fire Commissioners and Vista Fire Department membership named the Firehouse, "Hackett House," in honor of his dedication to making the Firehouse remodeling efforts a reality.

We as a Department are fortunate to still have Ex-Chief Hackett setting a hardworking example to us all.

The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate and thank Ex-Chief Jim Hackett for over 45 years of service to our Vista Fire District community!
