We at the Vista Fire Department would like to thank The Haberny Family for their time served with the Vista Fire Department and wish them the best of luck as they move to Maine.

Joe Haberny Sr. joined the Vista Fire Department in April 1993 accomplishing such feats as winning the 1996-1997 Vista Fire Department Firefighter of the Year award and also serving as a Line Officer for several years. Joe has been one of our lead chefs throughout the years for various community events like the "Game Dinner," "Spaghetti Night & Open House" and "Pancake Breakfast & Open House."

Soon after Joe joined the Vista Fire Department in 1993, Jeanine "Chippy" Haberny joined the Vista Fire Department Auxiliary. While Chippy joined Joe in helping with our various community events throughout the years, Chippy most notably oversaw the "Ladies Night Out" event that the Auxiliary held every fall at the Firehouse.

Lastly, all 3 of the Haberny children, Joey Jr., Nicole and Ethan "Piggy" Haberny also served with the Vista Fire Department over the years. Joe Haberny Jr. accomplished such feats as winning the 2010-2011 Vista Fire Department Firefighter of the Year award while Nicole and Ethan were active Firefighters with the Department as well.

Throughout the community, the Haberny Family is well known for owning and operating "Three Feathers Farm" that sat next door to the Vista Firehouse. Members of the community would go to their stand every year to purchase various meats, vegetables and corn. While The Haberny's were connected to the Vista community through the Department, they also made an impact operating "Three Feathers Farm" for the last 27 years.

While we will all selfishly miss The Haberny Family around the Vista Firehouse, we wish him nothing but the best of luck with the next chapter of their lives.

Thank you, Haberny Family!
