The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate EMT Candidate Savannah Phillips on completing her probationary period in the Department through the VFD Mentor Program!

Since joining the Vista Fire Department, EMT Candidate Phillips has completed EMT Basic class and is in the process of becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). EMT Candidate Savannah Phillips actively participates during calls & drills and has been mentored throughout her probationary period by Foreman Elly Hersam.

The Vista Fire Department Mentor Program is a process where new members are paired up with a senior member to help guide them through their probationary period in the Department. This program was developed to help transition new members into the Department by understanding call response, attending weekly Monday drills and preparing them for classes they may be taking in their first year with the Department.
