Cold Water Rescue and EMS CME Webinar Drills for 02/15/21

This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Cold Water Rescue" drill for our Firefighters and an "EMS CME Webinar" drill for our EMTs.

The "Cold Water Rescue" drill had our members reviewing how to properly put on the cold water rescue suits, how to properly rig a patient with their rescue equipment, how to throw the rescue rope bag and then they practiced how to rescue a patient on the Vista Firehouse pond. This type of training has prepared our members on how to properly respond during a cold water rescue incident.

The "EMS CME Webinar" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing trauma and geriatrics for this month's CME class. The continuing medical education (CME) program helps train our Vista EMS personnel throughout the year so they can continue to serve our community at it's highest level by keeping up on several skills. This drill had our EMS personnel logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues with holding online learning.
