This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Fire Call Scenarios" drill for our Firefighters and an "EMS In-Service" drill for our EMTs.

The "Fire Call Scenarios" drill had our Vista Firefighters practicing structure fire response at a commercial building in the Vista Fire District. Vista Firefighters stretched a 2-1/2" hose line off of Engine 141, masked up at the entry prior to entering the structure and worked on hose line advancement tactics. While this was going on Engine 142 practiced operating as a water source and Tanker 4 practiced supplying Engine 141 with a constant water flow. This type of training was conducted to practice our structure fire operations and an initial fire attack when responding to a commercial building.

The "EMS In-Service" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing the medications we carry on our Ambulances for various different types of responses. Vista EMS personnel reviewed medications such as epinephrine, aspirin, albuterol and narcan. This type of drill is part of the annual in-service training that our EMS personnel have to go through every year.
