Tanker Shuttle and EMS CME Webinar Drills for 10/26/20

This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Tanker Shuttle" drill for our Firefighters and an "EMS CME Webinar" drill for our EMTs.

The "Tanker Shuttle" drill had our Vista Firefighters practicing water supply operations during a fire. A "tanker shuttle" is where Firefighters are forced to move water via tankers due to areas with no fire hydrants or good drafting resources. It is instrumental for Departments in our area to have an adequate water supply to ensure a successful fireground operation. Being that the Vista Fire District is a "rural water supply" area, practicing this type of water supply operations is essential. We would also like to thank the New Canaan Fire Department for bringing their Tanker and participating during our drill.

The "EMS CME Webinar" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing toxicology, geriatrics and weapons of mass destructions (WMD) for this month's CME class. The continuing medical education (CME) program helps train our Vista EMS personnel throughout the year so they can continue to serve our community at it's highest level by keeping up on several skills. This drill had our EMS personnel logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues with holding online learning.
