This week's Monday drill was a "Search & Rescue" drill for our members.

The "Search & Rescue" drill had our Firefighters going through a scenario where a person was retrieved from a smoke filled room for EMS personnel to handle patient care. Vista Firefighters participated in the structure fire scenarios performing search & rescue operations by conducting searches for the entrapped patient. Once they located the patient, Firefighters removed the patient out of the structure to outside EMS personnel who performed care based off of the patient assessment presented to them from our Firefighters. This type of training is vital to the Vista Fire Department as both Firefighters & EMS personnel work together on all emergency responses in the Vista Fire District.
