This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Extrication" drill for our Firefighters and an "EMS CME Webinar" drill for our EMTs.

The "Extrication" drill had our Vista Firefighters practicing a motor vehicle accident scenario. Vista Firefighters practiced stabilization and extrication operations on a minivan utilizing tools such as the spreaders, cutters & hydraulic ram. Motor vehicle extrication is the process of removing a person who has been involved in a motor vehicle accident when conventional means of an exit are impossible or inadvisable.

The "EMS CME Webinar" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing diabetes and stroke for this month's CME class. The continuing medical education (CME) program helps train our Vista EMS personnel throughout the year so they can continue to serve our community at it's highest level by keeping up on several skills. This drill had our EMS personnel logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues with holding online learning.
