This week's Monday drill was a "Lost Person Search" drill for our members.
The "Lost Person Search" drill was conducted at Onatru Farm on Elmwood Road in South Salem, New York. Vista Fire Department personnel searched the area bordering Shady Lane and Deepwell Farm Road as it took roughly 20 minutes to locate the person, address the patient's medical needs, package them for extrication and remove them from the woods to a waiting ambulance. Practicing this type of training is instrumental for our members due to the amount of parks in the Vista Fire District such as the Leon Levy Preserve and Onatru Farm.
If you are interested in being part of our team at the Vista FD, visit us any Monday night from 6:30pm - 9:30pm or click the "Become a Member" tab at VistaFD.org for more details!
