This week's Monday Night Drill was an "Engine Company Operations - Extended Stretch" drill for our Firefighters and an "EMS CME Webinar" drill for our EMTs.

The "Engine Company Operations - Extended Stretch" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing how to stretch 200 feet of single person 1-3/4" hose line to a high rise bundle off of Engine 141. Once the evolutions were completed, Vista Fire Department personnel also reviewed how to properly repack a high rise hose line bundle. Throughout the month of July, Vista Firefighters focused their training on engine company operations since it had been several months since we had practiced different types of hose line advancement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The "EMS CME Webinar" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing emergency vehicle operations, trauma patient assessment and medical patient assessment for this month's CME class. The continuing medical education (CME) program helps train our Vista EMS personnel throughout the year so they can continue to serve our community at it's highest level by keeping up on several skills. This drill had our EMS personnel logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues with holding online learning.
